Reading connects, or the interdisciplinary dimension of reading promotion – Discussion panel for educators, librarians and reading promoters

We will meet to talk and together look for answers to the difficult questions that the modern world poses to us:
– How to promote reading in times when books have such strong competition, and when electronic media and artificial intelligence are fighting for the attention of children and young people?
– How to speak with one voice about values and benefits in a polarized world?
– How, despite the permanent lack of time and resources, can we build alliances and enjoy shared successes?
The invited speakers include:
– Magdalena Klepczarek, Head of the Department of Cultural Institutions in the Culture Office of the Capital City of Warsaw
– Joanna Bancerowska, spokesperson of the National Centre for Culture,
– Barbara Balmas, Head of the Krakow UNESCO City of Literature Programme,
– Aldona Radomska-Paluchowska, Programme Specialist, ING Children's Foundation,
– Maria Deskur, president of the Universal Reading Foundation,
– Agnieszka Rasinska-Bóbr, Deputy Director of the Book Institute,
– Barbara Sadurska, lawyer and writer.
The panel discussion will be led by Agnieszka Karp-Szymańska, president of the Czas Dzieci Group, director of the Intergenerational Festival of Children’s Literature – Fathers and Children.
