#CzytanieRżdzi w Dom Literatury, a series of reading meetings for children with the most valued authors and illustrators of children's literature, returns in 2025.
We invite you to the first meeting this year, which opens the cyclical events. February 8. The guest will be a Swedish writer Asa Lind, author of "Piaskowy Wilk", a favorite title of many children, which has become school reading. It is an extraordinary story about a little girl Karusia, presenting a world on the border between reality and children's fantasy.
Other well-known titles by the author include "Grandma's Shawl", a poetic story that helps the youngest understand the topic of transience, and the story of Elika, who discovers the world and people through meetings and conversations, often intergenerational.
In her books, she tries to capture things that are seemingly elusive, she experiments with language, she tries to rediscover it. Because what can actually be expressed in words? How to "write" a color? How to "tell" a scent? Can you fit the cosmos into a book? Åsa Lind wants to write books that don't lie and that you want to return to. Because a good book is one that you read over and over again, and preferably out loud.
Åsa Lind is a member of the Swedish Academy of Children's Literature. She is actively involved in promoting good literature for children and young people, and conducts meetings and lectures in which she talks about the tangible benefits of reading books.
Zakamarki Publishing House in Poland has published her books: "The Sand Wolf", "The Sand Wolf and Thinking Exercises" and "The Sand Wolf and True Inventions", "One, Two, Three, the Sand Wolf", "The Elliki Tomson Expedition" and "Grandma's Shawl".
The meeting will be held with the participation of Agnieszka Stróżyk, translator of the Swedish language, author of Polish translations of Åsa Lind's books. We invite you to a separate meeting dedicated to Swedish children's literature, with her participation, on February 27th.. This event is intended for organized groups.

The aim of the #CzytanieRządzi series is to make children friends with books, promote good children's literature, both Polish and foreign, and encourage them to visit local public libraries.
