The Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Warsaw has become the first university in Poland to offer its students a specialized course on the significance of reading.
Reading is a fundamental tool for personal and professional development. This vision is shared by the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, which is the first higher education institution in Poland to invite its students to participate in a free, innovative course titled: "I read, I think, I act, and I am a citizen." The program was developed by the Universal Reading Foundation (FPC) with the support of the Ministry of National Education.
Course details: I read, therefore I think, I act, and I am a citizen! – Civic education through reading and critical thinking | Navoica.pl
Why is reading essential for artists (and everyone else)? By reading, we:
- nurture our creativity (especially crucial in the age of AI!);
- strengthen critical thinking to better navigate the flood of information
and fake news
- build resilience and the capacity for conscious analysis of content and arguments;
- support our inner balance and well-being;
- develop key competencies for communication and collaboration in both professional and private environments.
We encourage universities, schools, companies, and institutions to actively invite their students, pupils, and employees to take part in this course. It is a simple yet significant step toward modern education that effectively prepares young people for life and work in a dynamic and demanding world.
The Universal Reading Foundation dziękuje ogromnie Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w WarszawieThe Universal Reading Foundation would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw for their immediate support and for sharing our belief that reading changes the world for the better.
