BibliotekON 2025 is starting. Platon invites you to a new online event for librarians and teachers
Book distributor Platon announces the first edition of BibliotekON, a new online event for librarians and teachers. The program includes free training in artificial intelligence and digital hygiene, workshops with publishers of children's literature, manga, and comics, as well as reviews of new releases and author interviews. The event will run from September 15 to October 31, 2025.
BibliotekON is a series of over 20 free training sessions, workshops and online meetings with publishers, which will take place from September 15 to October 9, 2025.

The Universal Reading Foundation for libraries. How to use FPC programs to increase visitor numbers?
Are you looking for new, proven ways to increase attendance at your library?
During the workshops, you will discover ready-made tools and programs that will effectively help you attract new readers.
This meeting is the essence of practical knowledge. Instead of theory and research, you'll receive concrete materials and tips that you can immediately implement in your daily work. You'll learn how to use the Foundation's proposals to:
- revitalize your library and make it a hub of activity,
- engage both existing and new users,
- effectively promote reading and your institution.
Join us and see how, thanks to simple but effective actions, your library can gain a completely new life!

The workshops will be led by:
Maria Deskur is a reading expert, publisher, and collective impact practitioner. She graduated in French Studies from the Jagiellonian University, Literature from the Sorbonne, and Communication from Université Lumière. She is a co-founder of the Muchomor publishing house, long-time managing director of Egmont and Burda Books, co-founder and president of the Universal Reading Foundation, the first Polish organization to receive the Library of Congress Literacy Award. She is also the winner of the 2019 Zwyrtała competition for the best reading promotion idea. She is also the author of the "Supermoc Książki" guide to promoting reading, co-author of the "#TataTeżCzyta" and "Czytająca Szkoła" guides, and co-founder of the "Czytająca Polska" Coalition. She is an Ashoka Fellow and a member of the Public Benefit Works Council. In her private life, she is a mother of four and a cyclist.

The BibliotekON program includes workshops with children's literature publishers and reading promoters, a training session on the use of AI in librarianship, and a workshop with Magdalena Bigaj on digital hygiene in schools and libraries. Librarians will also have the opportunity to meet online with popular authors such as Jakub Ćwiek and Magdalena Witkiewicz, who will discuss their favorite books that should be in every library.
Nearly 30 publishers will showcase their offerings during BibliotekON. The event's program includes thematic reviews of children's literature, Asian literature, young adult literature, as well as manga and comics.
The event is accompanied by a competition under the slogan #Reading Challenge. Librarians will have the opportunity to win one of five vouchers worth PLN 1,000 for books for their institution. The competition, which accompanies BibliotekON, will run until October 31, 2025.
