Reading has a huge impact on the development of every person, regardless of age. Developing reading skills is the foundation of children's education and their future success in school. Reading and live contact with books provides knowledge, shapes values, teaches empathy, develops imagination and the ability to understand the world, encourages asking questions and teaches thinking.
August 22nd from 10:00 to 12:30 we cordially invite you to an online seminar How to teach reading so that children learn by reading? Reflections on methods of teaching Polish | Facebook. This event is co-organized by the Universal Reading Foundation together with the Institute of Educational Research and the Ministry of National Education.
In the program:
– talk about reading and writing skills and their impact on school achievement.
– current research on reading in Poland.
– a broad discussion of the topic of reading skills and how it is taught, from three different perspectives: the innovator’s, the practitioner’s and the methodologist’s perspective.
– discussion on the topic: How do first reading experiences influence school achievements and reading attitudes?
