On November 8, 2024, we invite you to a seminar "From the pleasure of reading to curriculum change in schools", organized by the Educational Research Institute in cooperation with the Universal Reading Foundation.
The question also arises, how do you encourage students to read abroad and are the changes introduced sustainable and effective? What should we pay attention to? What should we not forget when implementing this method in a Polish school? What is “guided reading” and how to implement it in school work?
We will talk about all this during the event.
Date: November 8, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
During the meeting, experts will present:
- results of research on reading among children in Great Britain,
- real benefits of “reading for pleasure” among Polish children,
- text-based reading teaching methods – an alternative to the analytical-synthetic method dominant in Polish schools, available to students with diverse educational needs and developing motivation to read at school and throughout life.
