Thanks to the dedication of hundreds of participants, it promotes reading among children and young people. This year's theme was "Joy Comes from Reading.".

Of the over 1,500 participants who took part in this year's edition, the survey data was completed 324 facilities, which reported a total of 2091 activities aimed at children, teachers, parents, and external audiences. These are numbers that reflect enormous effort, passion, and creativity.

The largest group of beneficiaries were kids - until 82,342 participants took part in 1288 activities. That's as much as 89% total participants This is the best confirmation that the program's main goal—promoting reading among young children—has been achieved. On average, each activity engaged approximately 64 children!

However, activities aimed at other groups were equally important:

Teachers – 3166 participants w 370 activities, focused on developing competences and supporting teaching staff.

Parents – 4560 participants w 210 activities, thanks to which the program transferred reading values to other homes as well.

External recipients – 7308 participants w 223 activities, including seniors, nursing home residents, and partner institutions. This proves that the program effectively reaches beyond the walls of schools and preschools, promoting reading in the broader community and engaging students.

External recipients – 7308 participants w 223 activities, including seniors, nursing home residents, and partner institutions. This proves that the program effectively reaches beyond the walls of schools and preschools, promoting reading in the broader community and engaging students.

Last school year, students got involved for the first time in the framework of volunteering of the Reading Rescuers, confirmed by a certificate.

The abundance of initiatives is also incredibly encouraging: from activities inspired by the Bank of Ideas to original projects. Institutions and coordinators are eager to use both ready-made solutions and create their own, tailored to local needs – from class projects to school-wide initiatives.

The participants were dominated by primary schools (280 schools), but libraries and kindergartens also actively participated. The program covered over 150 towns throughout Poland – from large cities to smaller centers.

Most importantly, until over 290 branches confirmed the positive impact of participation in the program. Among other things, they pointed out:
– increased interest in books,
– development of reading skills,
– greater involvement of students, teachers and parents
– popularizing reading in local communities.

Participants almost unanimously positively assessed the effectiveness of the activities and the impact of participation in the program on the development of reading in institutions.

In the past edition, as part of cooperation with HarperKids, HarperCollins Polska and the Nowa Era publishing house, a special event was held. campaign addressed to the first grades of primary schools – I read to myself with joy. This initiative encouraged students just starting their school career to read. One thousand first-grade students received book packages, and thanks to the free materials available, even more reading activities were held with the participation of first-graders.

Reading Rescuers This program creates a collaborative and mutually supportive community of leaders—educators, teachers, librarians, and experts. Its goal is to exchange knowledge, experiences, and ideas that will support the implementation of the core curriculum and facilitate the promotion of reading among children and young people.

The rescue community already has almost 5,000 membersIts goal is for students and teachers to develop comprehensively, to care for each other, to care for the world around them, and to be able to communicate with each other, understanding and respecting each other. Reading books builds such communities.

The Universal Reading Foundation and the program coordinators thank all institutions, teachers, parents, partners, and children and young people for their active participation. Together, we show that reading changes the world for the better.

The partner of the 2024/2025 edition of the Reading Rescuers program was the Lajkonik brand.

The next edition of the program is coming soon. We encourage everyone working with children and young people to participate and recommend this initiative. This year, a special campaign for first-grade students will be launched again, this time in collaboration with Bank Pekao, under the slogan "Reading Pays Off.". Details on the website: www.ratownicyczytelnictwa.pl

Ratownicy Czytelnictwa – podsumowanie edycji 2024/2025 Z ogromną radością podsumowujemy kolejną edycję programu Ratownicy Czytelnictwa, realizowanego przez Fundację Powszechnego Czytania, który dzięki zaangażowaniu setek uczestników, przyczynia się do promocji czytania wśród dzieci i młodzieży.
