Questions will include issues related to the categories of most frequently read books, preferences for selected formats, as well as reader behaviors online and offline. The survey consists of 23 questions, and examples include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>What do you consider when choosing a book?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Where do you get your printed books, e-books, and audiobooks from?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Let&#039;s say a long-awaited book by your favorite author is about to be released \u2013 what&#039;s the first thing you do?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>We give our readers a voice in order to examine their expectations, listen to their comments, take a closer look at their reading interactions \u2013 not only online, but also offline. Publicly available results will allow all entities operating on the book market to meet the expectations of readers \u2013 both in the world of digital and printed books. Lubimyczyta\u0107.pl has been examining reader trends online since 2016, our surveys have already been completed by 60 thousand people, and all results and analyses are always available free of charge on the website:\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/lubimyczytac.pl\/badania-czytelnikow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>https:\/\/lubimyczytac.pl\/badania-czytelnikow<\/em><\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<strong>Izabela Sadowska says<\/strong>, president of lubimyczyta\u0107.pl<\/p>\n<p><strong>E-book piracy, subscriptions and new trends<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the \u201cReaders 2.0\u201d study, particular attention was paid to the problem of e-book and audiobook piracy.\u00a0<em>We want to find out how many people use illegal sources and what are the motivations behind these choices. On the other hand, the survey touches on the popularity of book subscriptions and examines what makes users choose specific platforms.\u00a0<\/em>\u2013\u00a0<strong>Adam Nowicki comments,<\/strong>\u00a0president of the Association I Read and Listen Legally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maciej Makowski,<\/strong>\u00a0The Chairman of the Publishers\u2019 Council of the Book Publishers\u2019 Agreement \u2013 Employers\u2019 Association adds:\u00a0<em>We wonder how Poles see the future of books: whether digital versions will dominate, whether the printed book will become a niche product, what will happen to independent bookstores, where on the web it is best to advertise books, what applications readers use. This study has the potential to find answers to many interesting issues.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Research methodology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The \u201cReaders 2.0\u201d study is conducted in the form of an anonymous online survey available at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/badanieczytelnikow.lubimyczytac.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/badanieczytelnikow.lubimyczytac.pl\/<\/a>\u00a0, which takes no more than\u00a0<strong>than 10 minutes<\/strong>. The results will allow us to better understand reading trends, imagine what the future of literature will look like, and prepare for the changes that the coming years will bring.<\/p>\n<p>The substantive side of the study is supervised by a sociologist.\u00a0<strong>Dr. Pawel Kuczynski<\/strong>, taking care of the quality and reliability of the data obtained, which emphasizes:\u00a0<em>In Poland, we have little research on reading books, that is, answering the questions: who are contemporary readers, what are their preferences, habits and how do they use new technologies. Our research, which I have been co-creating for years together with the service\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/xn--lubimyczyta-vlb.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>welikereading.pl<\/em><\/a><em>, is distinguished by the large number of samples obtained, which allows for in-depth analyses. We can isolate any group of interest to us (e.g. the youngest readers who read only the fantasy genre) and describe it in many respects.
