with a prescription book
How does it work?
As part of our support program, doctors recommend that parents of young children read along with a healthy diet, adequate sleep, and exercise. The Prescription Book is already operating in nearly 400 locations in Poland and supports up to 30,000 children a year.
However, we know that the needs are much greater. We want to reach out specifically to those areas where knowledge about the role of books in the development of young children is lacking and where social campaigns promoting reading have a harder time reaching the mainstream.
You can help us with this. Thanks to you, we will enable The program will include additional doctors and medical facilities, which will allow us to reach more parents and children. Because every child deserves the chance for healthy development, and reading books is a much-needed counterbalance to screens these days.

Why does it work?
Every parent wants the best for their child. Therefore, it's often enough to show mothers and fathers how they can easily support their child's development daily, from the first months, or even days of life. Because not reading isn't a result of laziness or ill will. Sometimes, it's simply a lack of sufficient knowledge or a lack of example from their own home and childhood.
What makes our program effective?
THE AUTHORITY OF A DOCTOR
A doctor's recommendation gives parents the impetus to change their daily habits. Thanks to it, parents discover how important reading is to their child's development and are more willing to do so.
A BOOK FOR HOME
A parent leaves the doctor's office with a book appropriate for their child's age. The physical presence of a book in the home promotes reading.
SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
Many parents want to read but don't know how to do it with a young child – should they read aloud or perhaps tell a story? A simple instruction from a doctor can alleviate any concerns.

SUPPORT OUR CAMPAIGN AND GIVE CHILDREN A CHANCE FOR HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT
READING is
a protective umbrella for mental health
Thanks to this, the child gains mental resilience, which allows him or her to better cope with stress, anxiety and difficulties in life.
This year's spring edition of the Book Protects campaign is part of a program that uses the extraordinary power of books to support the cognitive and emotional development of children and promote reading among adults, especially those at risk of reading exclusion.
We collaborate with publishing houses and unite a community of donors around the campaign, so that through books they can improve the quality of life, help people process traumatic experiences (e.g., in the face of war or refugee situations), reduce stress, bring joy, and ensure a better start – in life or a new chapter.
Book on Prescription This project integrates supporting children's reading habits into preventive healthcare. Its goal is for medical staff to recommend daily reading to children, their parents, and caregivers.
It supports the health and proper emotional and intellectual development of young children. Reading aloud to children daily and talking with them is an indispensable foundation for their emotional stability, social skills, and intellectual development.
